CAMPUS Choose workshops
Turku Archipelago · 30 September to 3 October 2026

Two afternoons in the field. Six instruments the industry does not have.

CAMPUS is a working programme, not a conference. Each morning at Ruissalo Boat Yard sets up three themes. Each afternoon you join one of four workshops in the archipelago and turn the morning's thinking into something your destination can use.

How the afternoons work

One workshop each day. You choose.

Four workshops run in parallel on Wednesday and again on Thursday, in four archipelago settings a short walk, cycle or bus ride from the boat yard. Three of them build one of the six models, one for each of the day's themes. The fourth is a discussion across all three themes for people who would rather argue the big questions than build.

Choose one for each day by Friday 18 September. Places are limited to keep every group small, and you can change your mind until the deadline. Everyone is back at the boat yard by 16:30 for the Value and Impact Wall.

Before you choose
  • Every workshop is a working session. No presentations, nothing pre-drafted. You author your own outputs.
  • A local expert opens each one from lived experience. The landscape is the context, not a backdrop.
  • Two sessions involve a sauna and an optional sea dip, one involves cycling and one a bus that leaves at 13:50 sharp. Each card says what to bring.
What the week builds

Six models. None of them finished. That is what the room is for.

Each theme works towards one instrument a destination can adopt: a standard, a label, a test, a model, a baseline and an index. The seventh theme, Value and Impact, is the test applied to all of them before they leave the room.

Practicalities

What to bring, whichever you choose.

Wear and carry

  • Thin layers for wind and rain. Early October can be plus ten, and the archipelago is exposed.
  • Walking shoes you can trust on a trail.
  • Swimwear and a towel if you choose a sauna afternoon. The sea dip is optional, always.
  • A reusable mug or thermos. There is no coffee stop at the venues; coffee waits at the boat yard when everyone returns.

Getting around

  • Everything starts and ends at Ruissalo Boat Yard. Lunch is there from 12:45.
  • City bikes are ready at the boat yard for the Eatery Alex group; the host team cycles with you.
  • The Myyntimiesten bus leaves at 13:50 and returns at 16:20. It cannot wait.
  • A private transfer is available for any workshop on request. Tell the host team when you choose.

Vegetarian and pescatarian food is the default across the programme. Tell us about anything else when you choose your workshops.
